I have been experiencing painful periods for many years. I started to have mid-cycle pain and severe diarhhea at the onset of my cycle about a year and half ago. I have had an exploratory lap done as well as several GI tests. I was told that I have IBS but the medications don't help. I also received a diagnosis of PID over the weekend by an ER doc. He found microscopic blood in my urine and free fluid in my pelvic cul-de-sac.

Is it possible the the Endo could have been missed if it located behind my uterus? My symptoms are in line with an endo diagnosis according to my primary physician. I have an appointment with a gyno this Thursday as well an ultrasound the same day.
